Gold Rebounds to $4,088 as Soft June CPI Cools the Rate-Hike Talk
Spot gold dipped below $4,100 early in the week on renewed US-Iran tension and higher oil, then jumped more than 2% to about $4,088 after June CPI fell 0.4% and the annual rate cooled to 3.5%. Underneath the swings, China's central bank bought for a 20th straight month and the official-sector bid held the floor.
